T the Stalin-led government of Dravid Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) seeks to renovate state temples, and by the way also for itself. An extensive plan to renovate Hindu temples is underway, including reclaiming seized land. The state department of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowants (HR&CE), which oversees the administration of temples in Tamil Nadu, is issuing eviction notices quickly and swiftly. Budget allocations for the maintenance and creation of facilities for pilgrims have increased many times over the past two years.
