Television actress Shubhangi Atre who rose to fame with her role on the television show. Bhabiji Ghar Par HaiShe told ETimes that she has separated from her husband, Piyush Poorey after 19 years of marriage. Speaking to ETimes about her decision, the actress said: “It’s been almost a year since we didn’t live together. Piyush and I did everything we could to save our marriage. Mutual respect, companionship, trust and friendship are the foundation of a solid marriage. However, we eventually realized that we couldn’t work out our differences and decided to give each other space and focus on our individual lives and careers.”
When asked about her feelings after the split, the actress told ETimes that she chose her mental stability as some damage cannot be fixed. “It is still difficult. My family is my top priority, and we all love our families around us. But some damage is beyond repair. When a relationship of so many years breaks up, it will surely affect you mentally and emotionally. It affected me too, but we had to take this step, and I have accepted it. Mental stability is paramount. I have always believed that adversity teaches you a lesson”. explained the actress.
The couple remain cordial for the well-being of their 18-year-old daughter. “She deserved love from both her mother and her father. Piyush comes on Sundays to meet her. I don’t want her to be deprived of her father’s love, ”said the actor, clearing his position.
The actress married Piyush in the year 2003. The marriage took place in her hometown, Indore. The couple welcome a daughter two years into their marriage. Shubhangi Atre has been a part of famous shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay, kasturiand Chidiya Ghar.
