QBE North America appoints a new President, Commercial Insurance

QBE North America has announced the promotion of Michael Foley (pictured above) to President, Commercial Insurance. Foley was previously Chief Underwriting Officer for QBE’s Commercial Loss Business.

In his new role, Foley will be responsible for planning, directing, and executing the strategy for business lines including mid-market, commercial incident, workers’ compensation programs, and commercial property programs. He will join the Executive Board of QBE North America and report to Todd Jones, CEO of QBE North America.

Business is critical to our success, and we have no doubt that Mike will help take it to the next level as he We help our customers build a more resilient future.”

Prior to joining QBE in April 2022, Foley was Global Chief Underwriting Officer for Care and Casualty at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance. He has also held a variety of leadership roles at AIG, including Chief Operating Officer for Lexington Insurance’s Program Division. Foley started his insurance career in the mid-market business in The Hartford.

Foley’s promotion is the latest North American QBE appointment. Last month, the company named Rachel as Chief People Officer and David Mulligan as Chief Operating Officer. In November, Laura Coppola was appointed Head of Underwriting.
