Consilium, the international brokerage arm of the Avintum Group, has added Toby Gorman (pictured above) and Matt Taylor (pictured below) as partner and associate partner, respectively, to the company’s mandated risk solutions division.
“I am delighted to welcome Toby and Matt to our growing team,” said James Beard, Managing Partner and Co-CEO of Concilium, in an emailed statement. “We are leading the way with innovation, delivering tangible added value to MGAs (Managing General Dealers) and Cover Holders through a range of services not yet considered core to a DUA (Delegated Underwriting Authority) brokerage.
“We are now working with over 60 global carriers across 30 individual product categories. We already operate largely in the UK, North America and Canada, and these latest appointments will enhance DUA’s expertise in those areas, particularly in non-critical (disaster) areas. Taylor, who has 26 years of brokerage experience, made the transition from Chesterfield Group. His credentials include his 14 years as a broker at Corrie Bauckham Batts.
Meanwhile, Gorman most recently served as the underwriting practice lead for property bookbinding at Arrow Risk Management. Specializing in delegated authority work for more than two and a half decades, Gorman previously worked for the likes of AXIS Capital and Novae.
Based in the UK, both employees bring additional specialist expertise in North America and Canada.
